Frame-Worthy Puzzles

ArtPiece Puzzles was founded by a serious puzzle enthusiast with a simple mission...to elevate the puzzle and the artists behind them.  Our designs feature artists from all over the United States who work in a variety of mediums.  The primary unifying factor is the artists' use of bright colors and their passion for art.  These masterpieces all arrive in 1000 pieces...assembly required.

Building Community

We are a new company but look forward to building a community of fellow puzzle addicts and artists.  We are excited to feature eight artists in our 2022 Kickstarter launch.  All are extremely talented and each brings a unique style to our product line.  Incredibly, four of the artists have disabilities that clearly have no impact their ability to create beautiful art.  We have chosen a business model where our artists are treated more like partners in the business than licensors of art.  Through both royalty payments and profit sharing, our current structure seeks to share 50% or more of all profits generated with the artists that create the images made into puzzles.

Please consider following us on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date on our Kickstarter launch and future product introductions.  If you are an artist and would like to find out more about partnering with ArtPiece Puzzles, please contact us at info@artpiecepuzzles.com

Quality

We have spent several months evaluating potential manufacturing partners, and we are happy to say that we have selected a US based company to produce our product.  While working with overseas partners might have cost less, we were impressed with the people and the quality offered by our selected supplier.  Each puzzle will include a high-quality print in the box and will feature a luxurious soft-touch finish.

Viktor Bevanda is a 13-year-old with incredible artistic abilities. He was born in Serbia and immigrated to the United States in 2018. Viktor began drawing when he was two or three years old, but his parents really took notice of his talent closer to age five. That was also the age when Viktor was diagnosed with Autism. Viktor is semi-verbal, but his limitations in comprehension and verbal expression do not at all impair his ability to communicate through art. In fact, Viktor has become a bit of a social media sensation with tens of thousands of followers on social media platforms and millions of “likes.” You can see his work at Vichy’s Art (https://vichysart.com/)

Viktor's drawings over the years have been largely influenced by the cartoon characters he watched on TV. Then at the height of the pandemic in 2020, Viktor’s mother who homeschools her kids decided to try something new. “I wanted to see if I could channel his art into different directions, so I presented several pictures and asked him to choose one to draw. The result was a miracle on paper,” she said. “What’s also amazing is how effortlessly, nearly automatically he makes strokes and selects colors without hesitation or second-thoughts.”

Today, Viktor primarily works in oil pastels and his use of color is absolutely brilliant. His subject matter is quite varied including landscapes, underwater scenes, portraits and nautical themes, but his whimsical animal art is most prolific. In an interview with WPTV of Palm Beach, Viktor’s brother summed things up quite well by saying, “He sees a much more beautiful world than we do.” We could not agree more and are thrilled to include two of Viktor’s designs in our company launch.

Joyce Buechele is an extremely talented artist who began her journey as an artist at an early age. She was raised in Fort Mill, SC before it became a bedroom community for nearby Charlotte, and she entertained herself with art. Her interest has continued into adulthood, and she has taken many classes in oil painting and watercolor to help refine her skills.  In addition to painting, she has learned to macramé, cross-stitch, knit, and crochet.  She enjoys seed beading, metal smithing, glass fusing, kumihimo, wire wrapping, and acrylic pouring. She also works with alcohol inks, resin, polymer clay, card making, and stamping.  As you might have gathered, Joyce simply enjoys the creative process and learning how to create beautiful things in new ways. She and her husband, Ken, live in Belmont, NC with their cats.  This watercolor of a Zebra with colorful stripes has been one of her most popular creations, and we are thrilled she has agreed partner with us in bringing the image to the puzzle community.

Are you ready for a little Augmented Reality Art?  Jaime Byrd resides in Asheville, NC and has garnered quite a following with her beautiful oil and cold wax paintings.  She uses vibrant color and texture to create a sense of place and often to create an emotional response for the viewer.

After studying fine arts in Los Angeles, Jaime focused on design and filmmaker before moving into painting full time. In 1999, she relocated to the Appalachian mountains outside of Asheville, North Carolina where her art studio is still today. Deciding to immerse herself in travel and filmmaking, Jaime took 5 years off to travel the globe and live in places like Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, and Mexico. When she returned she brought back with her a new view on her idea of art and how she creates.
It wasn’t long after that Jaime began merging her love of painting with filmmaking along with her deep interests in technology by creating Augmented Reality (AR) artwork that is part of many her paintings. She also offers NFT (non fungible tokens) of her work as well. “My work is often about our connectivity to not only nature, but with one another, and with the AR I create I’m hoping to take viewers even deeper into that journey.”

Jaime has had gallery exhibitions in both Mexico and the US including 2 solo shows in Asheville, NC. Her paintings have been featured on the cover of Rapid River and Carolina Arts magazines and her artwork is in permanent art collections in the US, Canada, England, Serbia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Mexico.

Nora Delabat is an award-winning artist with an unstoppable spirit. She was born to a large family in Cuba and started working at the age of ten before coming to Miami on a boatlift. She has suffered many hardships including a significant loss of eyesight in her late 50's, yet she continues to cherish each moment and to always look ahead. Interestingly, she did not begin developing her interest in art until after being diagnosed with vasculitis.

For Nora, art is therapy and it has helped her overcome the tremendous life changes that came with her disability. She loves her family and donates most of her work to charity. We are honored to have her artpiece “Dreams” included in our Kickstarter launch

As a result of his USMC service etc., Kenneth suffers from Complex PTSD and other disabilities. Art has been his maintenance therapy since 1999, and continues to help him mitigate the intense complications of his disabilities. He creates every day and shares his work with the hope of helping others to deal with the complexities of their disabilities in addition to his desire to bring beauty to the areas we work and live. His themes of love, nature and community can be seen throughout his work.

We are thrilled to offer his piece “My Hand Your Hand and a Helping Hand” in our Kickstarter launch. It is as beautiful completed as it is challenging to build.

Dominic Killiany is a 24-year-old young man from Watertown, MA living with autism. He loves his family, music, math and painting. Dominic is entirely self-taught and self-directed. He is inspired by what he sees including images, impressions and photographs. Dominic's art connects him to the world. Sketching and painting gives him the freedom to relax, to focus and to create masterful paintings. Each painting is unique in shape, pattern, texture and color. Symbols and numbers often appear in many of his paintings. Compositions vary from landscapes to wild safari animals in a language of abstract expression.

Dominic has been exhibiting his work since age 14 in his hometown public library. His art was featured in The Worcester Art Museum and then traveled to two fine galleries in the Boston area. His work was published in Studio Visit Magazine Volumes 40, 45 & 46 and he is an award winning Finalist in the 2021  Emerging Young Artists competition at The Kennedy Center.

Dominic's family, teachers and friends form a circle of support that embrace him and encourage him to express himself through his beautiful art. We are inspired by this young man and are delighted to include his ArtPiece “Denali National Park” in our Kickstarter launch

Residing in the beautiful mountains near Asheville North Carolina, artist Jeff Pittman is never short on inspiration for his colorful oil paintings. He is primarily known for his dramatic skies, panoramic mountain vistas and small-town street scenes. Born in Greenville, NC, Jeff grew up observing his father paint rural scenes of eastern and coastal North Carolina. He has taken the artistic impressions he learned early on and applied them to his colorful mountain vistas and cityscapes. “I strive to capture the scene in bold, expressive colors that represent different views of North Carolina and particularly enjoy the play of light against downtown buildings and the ever-changing color in the skies and mountain ridges that surround us.”

Bold brush strokes give his paintings a feeling of texture and movement while luminous colors create a natural glow. Jeff’s work has been widely exhibited in numerous juried competitions and fine art galleries, and it can be seen in private and corporate collections throughout the Carolinas and beyond.

While coastal scenes represent a small fraction of Jeff’s work, we were captivated by this particular image entitled Shrimper at Harbor. This will be offered as a 1000-piece puzzle during our Kickstarter launch.

Daughter of an artist and engineer, Judith was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She began plein aire painting with her mom, Jane Scott, at the age of 10 and has continued this practice throughout her life. Jane was the first woman Master Pastelist inducted into the Pastel Society of America, and Judith later followed. Both have lifetime memberships and have each won many awards. Her work is currently on display at the Lewis Art Gallery in Omaha.

On a personal note, Judith loves painting with pastels outside. In her own words...The pigments are bright and can be used in an Impressionistic fashion. Not painting from photos allows me to capture the atmosphere and the time of day. I hope people look at my painting and say, ”Oh, that was painted in late summer at about 4 pm in the afternoon!”

Judith is an accomplished artist, and we are excited to share her painting "Sunflowers" (which now hangs in our home) as a 1000-piece puzzle.
